How Do I Change a Component in Figma?

Components in Figma are like symbols in other design tools. They're a reusable piece of an interface that you can create once and use in multiple places.Unlike symbols in other tools, Components in Figma maintain a shared relationship with the original elements. This means that if you change a Component, every instance of that Component will be updated.

To change a Component:

  1. Select the Component from the canvas or the Components panel.
  2. Click on the Edit button in the Inspector.
  3. Make your changes to the selected element.
  4. Click on the Save button to update the Component.

Note:

If you try to edit a Component that's part of a locked Frame, you'll need to unlock the Frame first.
