How Do I Change the Aspect Ratio in Photoshop Without Cropping?
Aspect ratio is the term used to describe the relationship between the width and height of an image. For example, an image that is 4 inches wide and 3 inches high has an aspect ratio of 4:3. Aspect ratios are usually expressed as two numbers separated by a colon, such as 4:3 or 16:9.The most common aspect ratios used in digital photography are 3:2 and 4:3. These ratios are based on the dimensions of traditional film formats. The 3:2 ratio is derived from 35mm film, while the 4:3 ratio comes from older, medium format film.
Despite their popularity, these two aspect ratios are not well suited for every subject matter. That’s where Photoshop comes in.
