How Do I Convert to Figma in Photoshop?
If you're a web or app designer, then you've probably heard of Figma. It's a vector drawing and animation software that's taken the design world by storm in recent years.But what if you're still using Photoshop? Is it possible to convert your Photoshop files to Figma?The short answer is yes, it is possible to convert Photoshop files to Figma. However, it's not as simple as just exporting your PSD file as a .fig file. In order to properly convert your Photoshop design into a Figma project, you'll need to take a few extra steps.
Here's a quick rundown of what you need to do in order to convert your Photoshop file to Figma:
- Export your PSD file as a PNG
- Create a new Figma project
- Import your PNG file into Figma
- Convert the PNG layers into vector shapes
Let's take a more detailed look at each of these steps:
1. Export your PSD file as a PNG
The first step is to export your PSD file as a PNG. This can be done by going to File > Export > Export As.. in Photoshop.In the export dialog, make sure that you select PNG from the Format drop-down menu and click Export.
2. Create a new Figma project
Once you have your PNG file, the next step is to create a new Figma project. You can do this by going to www.figma.com and clicking the Start creating button in the top-right corner.
After creating your new project, click on the File menu in the top-left corner and select Import > Images. This will open up a dialog where you can select your exported PNG file.
Once you've selected your file, click Open and then choose which workspace you want to import it into.
If you want to keep things organized, we recommend creating a new workspace for each of your projects.
To do this, click on the Workspace menu in the top-left corner and select New Workspace. Give your workspace a name and click Create.
Once you've imported your image, you should see it appear in the workspace area.
- The next step is to convert the layers in your PNG file into vector shapes. To do this, select the layer that you want to convert and click on the Convert tool in the toolbar.
- This will open up a dialog where you can choose how you want to convert the layer. For most cases, we recommend selecting the Vector Smart Object option and clicking Convert.
- Repeat this process for each of the layers in your design until they've all been converted into vector shapes.
