How Do You Add a Vignette in Photoshop?

A vignette is a small, distinctive design placed in the corner of a photograph. Vignettes can be used to add interest to an otherwise ordinary photo, or to call attention to a particular area of the image. Vignettes can be created in Photoshop with the help of the Elliptical Marquee Tool and the Levels Adjustment Layer.

To create a vignette, first open the image you want to edit in Photoshop. Then, select the Elliptical Marquee Tool from the Tools palette.Next, click and drag the tool around the area of the image you want to highlight. When you release the mouse button, you should see a selection outline in the shape of an ellipse.

Now, go to the Levels Adjustment Layer menu and select Levels. In the Levels dialog box, drag the black slider towards the right until it is about halfway between the white and gray sliders. This will darken the edges of your selection.

Finally, click on the Add Layer Mask button at the bottom of the Layers palette. This will create a mask that hides everything outside of your ellipse selection. To finish, go to File > Save As and save your image as a .psd file.

Adding a vignette in Photoshop is a quick and easy way to add interest to your photos!
