Where Is Figma API Key?

As a design tool, Figma is extremely powerful and versatile. However, one of its key features is the ability to share designs with other users and allow them to collaborate on the same project. In order to do this, each user needs to have their own API key.

API stands for “Application Programming Interface”. In simple terms, an API key is a code that allows two pieces of software to communicate with each other. When you create a new Figma account, we generate a unique API key for you. This key is used to identify you and your account when making requests to our API. It’s similar to a username and password, but it’s much more secure.

Figma’s API key is used when you make requests to our API. For example, if you want to get a list of all the files in your account, you would make a request to the “List files” endpoint. This request would need to include your API key so that we can identify which account the request is coming from.

You can find your Figma API key in the “Settings” page of your account. Just click on your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the screen and select “Settings” from the drop-down menu. Your API key will be listed under the “API Key” section at the bottom of the page:

If you ever need to reset your API key, just click on the “Reset API Key” button next to it.

Now that you know where to find your Figma API key, you can start using our API to automate tasks or build integrations with other tools.
