Figma was created by Dylan Field and Evan Wallace. They met while studying computer science at Brown University.Dylan was interning at Google while Evan was working on his PhD. They bonded over their shared love of design and programming, and decided to start a company together.

Their first product was an animation tool called Flinto. But they quickly realized that the world didn't need another animation tool - what it needed was a better way to design user interfaces.

So they set out to build the first interface design tool with real-time collaboration. Figma was born!
